Venus Transit – June 5, 2012

Transits of Venus are very rare, coming in pairs separated by more than a hundred years. This 2012 transit was the bookend of the one in 2004. The next Venus transit will occur on December 11, 2117.

You can see my images of the 2004 Venus transit here. The nearly 7-hour transit began at 1:09 p.m. Central Daylight Time (22:09 UT) on June 5, 2012.
