Jupiter
Here is the planet Jupiter taken on 4/25/2004. The S50 was set to manual mode with ISO 50 selected, a shutter speed of 1/40 a second and F8. The camera was hand held to the eyepiece of a 10" Meade LXD55 Schmidt-Newtonian. The small dark spot on the planet is the shadow of Jupiter's moon Ganymede.

Digiscoped image taken through my Meade LXD55 10" Schmidt-Newtonian of the Moon.
I took this image of the Moon back on August 31, 2014. This is a digiscoped image taken through my Meade LXD55 10" Schmidt-Newtonian. There are quite a few prominent landmarks of note to point out. Starting toward the top of the image the two standout craters just to the left of the terminator are Aristoteles and slightly smaller Eudoxus. Just below them and lit nicely on the terminator are the peaks of the Caucasus Mountains. Further still we have the egg-shaped Mare Serenitatis (Sea of Serenity) with the crater Posidonius on the left edge. Dropping straight down from Posidonius at the bottom-left of Mare Serenitatis is where Apollo 17 landed in the Tuarus-Littrow Valley. As we continue on we enter Mare Tranquillitatis (Sea of Tranquility). The Apollo 11 landing site is located on the lower right part of the Sea of Tranquility. Just below that is Sinus Asperitatis (Bay of Roughness). Just below the Bay of Roughness at the bottom of this image you'll notice two large overlapping craters. The one with the central peak is Theophillus. The other is Cyrillus.

This image of the 1st quarter Moon was taken on 4/26/2004. The S50 was set to manual mode with ISO 50 selected, a shutter speed of 1/60 a second and F7.1. The camera was hand held to the eyepiece of a 10" Meade LXD55 Schmidt-Newtonian.

Crater Tyco
Tycho is a prominent lunar impact crater located in the southern lunar highlands, named after the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546-1601). To the south is the crater Street; to the east is Pictet, and to the north-northeast is Sasserides.
Full Moon
This shot of the Moon was taken with a 60mm refractor working at F/15. I used a Nikon FM camera and 100 speed film. The exposure was 1/125 second.
