  • Full Moon – Blue Moon

    This is the second Full Moon in May and thus a "blue moon." The moon will no change colors. It will appear just like any other full moon. "Blue Moon" is just the term used to describe the second full moon within a month. Blue moon's happen roughly every 2.5 to 3 years.

  • Jupiter & Venus Conjunction

    Jupiter and brighter Venus will be about 1.5 degrees a part in Gemini in the western evening sky on June 9, 2026 after sunset. Look for the bright stars Alpha Geminorum, Castor, and Beta Geminorum Pollux, the two bright "heads" of the Gemini twins to the right of Jupiter and Venus.

  • New Moon

    The new moon happens when the moon is in between the Earth and the Sun on its orbital path. The new moon is described as invisible because the part of the moon that is illuminated by the Sun is not facing the Earth. Only the dark side of the moon is visible.

  • June Solstice

    The summer solstice occurs when the sun's zenith is at its furthest point from the equator. On the June solstice, it reaches its northernmost point. When this occurs the sun is directly over the Tropic of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere.
