Total Lunar Eclipse

March 3

On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the Moon will pass through Earth’s shadow in a total lunar eclipse, meaning the Moon will be completely darkened and often takes on a reddish hue. For Fort Worth observers, the penumbral phase begins at around 2:44 a.m. CST, the full totality begins around 5:04 a.m. CST, reaches maximum at approximately 5:33 a.m., and ends around 6:02 a.m. CST, though the Moon will be very low on the western horizon by the end of the event. This is a rare sight no special equipment is required, just find a clear west-facing horizon and arrive early.
