The Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) is a NASA mission launched in 2010 to study the Sun and its influence on Earth and near-Earth space. It continuously observes the Sun in multiple wavelengths of light, capturing high-resolution images that reveal details about solar activity such as sunspots, flares, and coronal mass ejections. By monitoring changes in the Sun’s atmosphere and magnetic field, SDO helps scientists better understand how solar variations affect space weather and the Earth’s environment.
