Orionids Meteor Shower
The Orionids will peak on the night between Oct 21–22. The Orionid meteor shower is the second meteor shower created by Comet Halley. The moon will be about 37% elumunated during the peak this year.
Full Moon
The October Full Moon (Hunter's Moon) occurs at 3:24 p.m. CDT on October 28, 2023.
Jupiter at Opposition
The giant planet will be at its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun. It will be brighter than any other time of the year and will be visible all night long. This is the best time to view and photograph Jupiter and its moons.
