Mercury & Mars Morning Conjunction

January 27

Early risers on Saturday morning, January 27th will be treated to three planets low in the southeast. Mercury and Mars will be very close to one another with bright Venus higher in the sky by about 8 degrees all in Sagittarius. You’ll need an unobstructed view of the SE sky and maybe a pair of binoculars as well as good weather to spot Mercury and Mars. The best time to look will be around 6:45 a.m. CST before the Sun’s light starts to wash everything out. Also, an added bonus, the Moon will be low in the west and only a couple of days past full.
