Lunar Occultation of Mars

December 7, 2022

The Moon will pass in front of Mars, creating a lunar occultation visible from parts of the Americas, Europe and Northern Africa. The occultation will be visible from North Texas. It will begin with the disappearance of Mars behind the Moon at 20:52 CST in the eastern sky at an altitude of 44.5 degrees. Its reappearance will be visible at 21:29 CST at an altitude of 52.3 degrees.
